'Tis the Season

Merry Christmas to you and yours! We hope you are having a wonderful Holiday season! Last week we went to Bass Pro to see Santa. Cousins Aidan and Ronan met us there too. All the kids were excited to see the man in the red suit, up until the point where it was our turn to talk to him.

Merry Christmas!

Westin and Ronan were not to thrilled about the guy. Ronan needed a little extra encouragement.

Below are some photos of the Christmas decorations around our home.

The entryway banister.

Our tree.

Our beautiful fireplace mantel.

Can't forget the reason for the season.
Preparing the lights for outside. Make sure you check every bulb Russ.
Ivan is getting really cozy at our place this year!

We can't wait to see everyone at Christmas time!
Until then, please stay safe.

Let the good times roll....

Summer is slowly creeping away from us as fall rapidly approaches. We've been outside trying to make the most of this cool weather. Recently, we took a couple of trips to the lake, and to see the Grandmas and Grandpas.

Here Saige and Westin are throwing rocks into the lake. Those rocks that are way to big for a little kid to pick up are the exact ones that these two think need to be in the bottom of the lake. Because as we all know those make the biggest splash!  P.S. This was very unstable conditions for Westin. But he did not care! He wanted to be in with the fishys!

Westin and Daddy on Grandpa Roy's 4-wheeler.
Boy, someone could use a haircut.

Saige, striking a pose with the Flintstones' hot rod.

Labor Day we went to the lake with our friends Skyler and Bryson.
Their Daddy brought his kayak! Saige really liked the yellow boat. She thinks that someday her Daddy needs to get one.

Hooray for wide open plains! and for green galoshes!

Westin got a nice ride in Grandpa Mike's skid-steer.

Westin needs two people to change his diaper.
At least when they are newbies!!! (Note: evil grin)

Saige has been riding her little bike all over town this summer. But just a couple of days ago she decided she wanted to try out the larger bike that used to be Aunt Amy's. She liked it very much, but is still concerned about it toppling over. (Westin's in the background eating chalk or something mischievous I'm sure.)

Thanks for stopping by! Next weekend we'll have updates from our town's Fall Festival. Petting zoos, games, and candy galore!!!

A Sunday Hike

Finally, it has cooled down enough we can do some things outside for longer periods of time. We went on a hike this past weekend and Saige decided to be a real character as you WILL see in the photos below. Both kids were super excited to be in the woods again, as was dad, and mom mostly too! Although in most the photos Westin is extremely somber. (He's not really that serious of a kid, you should see him talk to all the pretty girls at the pool, but that's another story.)

Here's the goods:

This photo was meant to be of dad
and Westin, but as you can see
Saige totally steals the show.

One good smile from Westin but, where's the camera?

Saige did an excellent job on the trail!

Saige loves the trees, just like Daddy.

 Group shot!

Saige: "Dad! Look it's my wand!"

 Sweet kisses from mom.

Saige's mini photoshoot!

Learning at it's finest!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet, sweet, summer....

There are many photos here for you to enjoy. We've done a lot of things already this summer, but have many more planned.

At the beginning of June we took advantage of a really nice weekend. We went camping over in Missouri at Blue Springs Lake. We stayed only one night, but based on Saige and Westin's performances we will definitely be going again. (Maybe towards the end of summer when it cools down again.)

Here we were at the Marina at Blue Springs Lake, and Saige fed the fish.

Big boy Westin, waterside.

If you notice on the two pictures above Westin is crawling away from the camera. That boy didn't care at all what he was crawling on. He crawled right through the grass and right on top of the rocks. Sticks he found were especially fun toys too. Nothing stopped him from having a good time.
(You can tell he had a good time by the smile on his face below.

I can't remember which day I got this picture text at work.
Apparently, Saige had picked out her own outfit.
Not too bad, except the fact it was probably 85 degrees outside.

One weekend we got breakfast at a little place called Lake-N-Dale
in Hillsdale, KS. Right near the lake. As you can tell our kids are kind of morning people.
Westin loved the pancakes AND the food off of everyone else's plate.

Below are two pictures of what we do when it's to hot to bring the little one out to the lake to camp. We set up a tent inside. (Mom like staying cool too!) We can also watch TV from here too.
These four photos show Saige at swim lessons.
When Saige gets over her shyness she really likes to make new friends.
We are now half way finished.

This is Dad's Fathers Day gift.
It's a backpack that Westin can ride in on long hikes.
This was only a trial run, but we can't wait to put it to good use!
We'll take better pictures next time so you can really see what this thing looks like.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at the photos. We can assure you that we will have more to share. We always seem to have something going on.

Peace and love,

Welcome to Our Home!!!

If you haven't heard, we have been very busy the last couple of months. We have moved our family from our little, two bedroom town-home to a larger home we purchased. There are three bedrooms with a possible forth and/or fifth in the unfinished basement. The garage is large enough for two cars. (A tight fit for the truck though.) A fenced backyard with several large trees, corner lot. Large kitchen that opens into the living room. Two full bathrooms and a Master bathroom. In short order, a bunch of stuff we had been living without while renting. We even have a fridge that makes ice now!
Oh yeah, did I mention Westin has his very own room now! Hooray!!!

Well, enough ramblings, here are the photos.

The front of our home. Whole house needs painted, any takers?
The large living room with a nice fireplace (Gas). Grandpa Mike says a big elk mount would look nice. I tend to agree.
The kitchen. A mess already. Side note: first meal - frozen pizza. Oven works!
Westin loves the hallway running from the Kitchen/Living room back to the bedrooms.
The deck. Large enough for a kiddy pool. Saige loves it. (As do we grown-ups.)
Large backyard. It now has a swing set in it that the Grandpas helped build.
What are you taking pictures of out there Dad? I want out too!
Behind these guys you can see the dining area and the steps coming up from the main entrance.
This is Saige's room. Can you tell she loves the pink wall? The other three walls are a light khaki.
This shot was taken in Westin's new bedroom. It's kinda of a goldish brown.
Some of the crew finishing up the Master Bedroom.
The finished product of the Master Bedroom.

Special thanks to all who supported us either by painting, cleaning, moving, and or watching kids...
or anything else I forgot.

We love you all!

P.S. We'll post pictures of the house once we get everything settled and new projects also.
